Questions people ask
Do I need to soak the soybeans first?
No. MioMat makes soy milk from dry soybeans just fine. If you plan to turn the milk into yogurt or fresh plant-based cheese, soaking is a good idea, because soaked beans blend a little easier.
Do I need to peel the soybeans?
No. MioMat grinds the whole bean, skin and all.
Can I add sweetener or vanilla into the MioMat?
Yes, add them in Step 3, together with the beans and water. Whatever you add, rinse the MioMat right after use. That keeps cleanup easy.
When should I add calcium or nutritional yeast?
Stir powders like these into the finished milk, after the program ends. Powders like calcium can sink to the bottom, so shake the bottle before you pour.
What is a MioMat cup?
It is the measuring cup that comes with MioMat. One MioMat cup is about half of a regular US cup. So 1 MioMat cup of soybeans is about 1/2 cup of dry soybeans.
How much milk does one batch make?
About 40 oz (1.2 L) if you don't strain it. Straining takes out about 20%, so you get about 34 oz (1 L), a little more than a quart.
How long does homemade soy milk keep?
Keep it in a closed bottle in the fridge and drink it within 2 to 3 days. A pinch of salt helps it keep a little longer.
Don't have a MioMat?
You can make soy milk on the stove too. Here is the full stove method.

Should soy beans be soaked and or boiled and should skins be removed? I would also like to add nutritional products such as calcium carbonate and nutritional yeast. When shall I add those? And is it OK to add the sweetener in the machine? I had read that it might make it difficult to clean. Any other nutritional hints you have would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hola. Está receta para hacer leche de soja no dice que haya que poner en remojo las habas de soja el día anterior.
¿Se puede hacer la leche de soja sin remojar al menos 8 horas antes las habas de soja?
Gracias
