First, we want to sincerely apologize for the continued delay with StrainMate.

We know many of you have already been waiting a very long time, and we fully understand how frustrating and disappointing that can feel.

As a small family business, we take your trust very seriously, which is exactly why we are sharing this update openly and honestly.

What happened?

Over the last months, we have been heavily testing the StrainMate glass jar, especially with very hot plant milks like fresh soy milk.

During this process, we discovered inconsistencies in the original glass production that did not meet the quality standards we want for long term daily use.

Some of the jars we received had visible production defects which in some cases can even cause cuts as they were mostly in the handle area.

More importantly, after additional testing, we realized there was also a possibility that the original glass could eventually crack or break under repeated thermal stress from very hot plant milk.

Because of that, we made the difficult decision not to move forward with the original production batch.

Why the delay became so long

At first, we believed the issues could be fixed with the original manufacturer.

Unfortunately, even after multiple revisions and new sample batches, the problems continued appearing.

At that point, we no longer felt comfortable relying on that production process.

Instead of risking sending out a product we were not fully confident in, we decided to completely rethink the glass manufacturing solution.

The good news

After extensive testing, we have now partnered with another manufacturer that specializes in high borosilicate glass.

The new jars have performed exactly the way we hoped during testing.

The updated glass uses thinner high borosilicate glass, which absorbs heat more evenly, greatly reduces changes of cracks.

While the new glass is slightly thinner, it actually has much better thermal resistance for repeated hot plant milk straining over long-term use.

This is especially important because many customers will use StrainMate with very hot, fresh soy milk directly from MioMat.

The new glass is so heat-resistant that it can withstand instantaneous temperature changes of 150°C (302°F), which just gave us that extra confidence that it will last for a lifetime.

Why does the final jar look slightly different?

Because we changed the glass manufacturing solution, the final StrainMate jar will look slightly different from the original product photos.

The functionality remains the same, but the shape and glass thickness have changed slightly as part of this manufacturing improvement.

The important part is that the glass jar fits the strainer perfectly.

Current timeline

At this point, we finally feel confident that we now have the correct long-term solution for StrainMate.

To avoid giving another unrealistic estimate, we are currently allowing up to 3 more months for final production.

(one month of that is shipping)
